Abstract

В статье исследуется деятельность французского предпринимателя Генриха Афанасьевича Брокара в России второй половины XIX в., определяется его вклад в становление и развитие парфюмерной промышленности страны. В данной статье выявляются особенности создания и функционирования предприятия, основанного иностранцем в Москве. Рассматривается процесс адаптации представителя французских предпринимательских кругов к условиям пореформенной России, проходящей стадию догоняющей модернизации. На примере фирмы Г. Брокара устанавливаются основные компоненты синтеза европейской и российской предпринимательской культуры. Методологической основой исследования стала реализация принципов историзма и объективности при сочетании системного и диалектического подходов к разработке проблемы. В ходе работы использовались общенаучные методы: факторный анализ, типологический анализ, сравнительно-сопоставительный метод, а также специальноисторические методы: историко-сравнительный и проблемно-хронологический. Отмечается влияние Г. Брокара на социально-экономическую жизнь России. Демонстрируется пример того, как желание и личные качества предпринимателя могут способствовать организации своего дела и даже новой отрасли. Научная новизна определяется и тем, что в статье впервые вводятся в научный оборот неопубликованные источники из Центрального государственного архива г. Москвы.

The article examines the activities of the French entrepreneur Henri Brocard in Russia in the second half of the 19th century and evaluates his contribution to the formation and development of the Russian perfume industry. It reveals the features of the creation and functioning of the enterprise founded by the foreigner in Moscow. The author pays attention to the adaptation of the representative of the French business community to the conditions of post-reform Russia. The article uses Brocard and Co. as an example to identify the main components of the synthesis of the European and Russian business cultures. The research methodology is based on the principles of historicism and objectivity and the combination of systemic and dialectical approaches to the problem. The author also uses such general scientific methods as factor analysis, typological analysis, comparative the method, as well as special historical methods. The article makes an attempt to reveal the influence of H. Brocard on the socioeconomic life of Russia. It demonstrates how the desire and personal qualities of an entrepreneur can contribute to the organisation of his/her business and even a new industry. Scientific novelty is determined by the fact that the article deals with unpublished sources from the Central State Archive of Moscow.
