
The contents of the paper is directly connected with the main topic of the Conference. It presents selected research projects carried out in one of the biggest geographical centres in Poland - their basic assumptions and results. They exemplify the novelties in socio-economic geography in the changing world and refer to both geographical theories and their implementation to praxis. Of particular importance are the projects implemented under the EU programmes, including ACRE, CIRES, Re-City and RurAction. The paper shows a growing scope and role of geographical investigations.

Они служат примером новаций в социально-экономической географии в меняющемся мире и относятся как к географическим теориям так и к их реализации к практике. Особенно важны проекты реализуемыe в программах ЕС, включая ACRE, CIRES, Re-City и RurAction. В статье показан растущий круг интересов и роль географических исследований.
