Senile asthenia syndrome of (SAS) was evaluated in 130 patients older than 75 years, hospitalized with acute coronary syndrome (ACS).The article reveals high prevalence of SAS (66.1%), often in combination with other geriatric syndromes (cognitive deficiency, impaired motor activity, functional mobility, nutritional and morale statusdistortion). Associations with troponin level (myocardial infarction) and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) have been established, which may be important in a dismal prognosis in such patients.
