Problems of variation in translation: a case study of the lexical unit: "FACILITIES"
В статье рассмотрена проблема достижения адекватности перевода терминов высшего образования за счет минимизации вариантов перевода на примере полисемичной лексемы facilities с учетом реального функционирования данного термина в академической среде; обосновывается целесообразность сужения поиска тождественных терминов при переводе на русский язык за счет исключения второстепенных вариантов; предлагаются примеры перевода лексемы facilities в различных контекстах.
The article looks into the number of translation variants of the polysemic lexical unit ‘ facilities’ in the academic environment. It justifies the narrowing down of synonymic terms in translation into Russian. Variants of translating the word ‘ facilities’ in different contexts are suggested.
