The theme of the research is a large-scale intrusion of English into modern Russian visual public environment. One of the indicators of this phenomenon is Russian-English discourse displayed in the visual socio-cultural space of Russian cities (billboards, flyers etc.). A new issue of 'anglicization' is considered on a multidiscipline basis and from perspectives of the national language policy. The main objectives are formulated, key concepts are defined, and topicality of the study is grounded.
