ЭТНОЛИНГВОКУЛЬТУРНАЯ ХАРАКТЕРИСТИКА ГИДРОНИМОВ США

Abstract

The article is devoted to the the nomination of the hydronyms of the United States of America in the interrelation of their etymological and semantic characteristics. The aim is to identify the semantic and etymological characteristics of the hydronyms in the American English version. As a result, the connections between the names of the given hydronyms with their belonging to the certain thematic groups and by their extralinguistic features are identified.

В статье рассматриваются именования гидронимов Соединенных Штатов Америки во взаимосвязи их этимологической и семантической характеристик. Целью является выявление семантических и этимологических характеристик гидронимов в американском варианте английского языка. В результате выявляются связи наименования предоставленных гидронимов по их принадлежности к определенным тематическим группам, а также по их экстралингвистическим особенностям.
