Transportna svojstva Co1/3NbS2 pod visokim tlakom

Abstract

Co1/3NbS2 pripada skupini dihalkogenida prijelaznih metala interkaliranih prijelaznim metalom. Atomi kobalta nastanjuju oktahedralna mjesta između trigonalnih prizmatičnih slojeva roditeljske faze 2H-NbS2, gradeći na taj način superrešetku. Dva elektrona po Co atomu prelaze u izvorno polupopunjenu dz2 vrpcu roditeljske faze NbS2 koja se zbog toga širi i postaje 5/6 popunjena. Preostalih sedam elektrona na Co ionu su lokalizirani i tvore magnetske momente s ugašenim orbitalnim doprinosom (3/2 spinski moment). Ti momenti poprimaju antiferomagnetsko uređenje (poznato kao heksagonalno uredđenje prve vrste) na Néelovoj temperaturi TN = 26 K. Fazni prijelaz je uzrokovan dvama konkurentskim međudjelovanjima: RKKY međudjelovanjem i superizmjenom preko susjednih sumporovih iona. Jakosti tih međudjelovanja se mogu mijenjati primjenom visokog tlaka. Mjerili smo električnu otpornost i termostruju u temperaturnom području od 1.6 do 800 K i pod tlakom do 1.8 GPa u temperaturnom području od 1.6 do 300 K ; te toplinsku vodljivost od 2 do 300 K.
