Embedded system applications are moving toward interconnection and networking. Integrating distributed systems through Internet is possible using dedicated gateways or web enhanced embedded servers. In this article hardware and software architecture of embedded web servers is analysed. Processor, memory and interface requirements are defined. Software development tools are specified. TINI embedded web server from Dallas Semiconductors is presented. The experimental data acquisition system is developed and embedded web server functionality is verified.
