Abstract

Članak smješta grupu Gorgona u sveobuhvatan pregled hrvatske umjetnosti koji knjiga nudi. Autorica daje uvid u razvoj, strategije umjetničkog djelovanja i filozofske pozicije najznačajnije neo-avangardne grupe poslijeratne hrvatske umjetnosti (uz Nove tendencija) koja u Zagrebu djeluje od 1959. do 1966. godine. Njihovo se djelovanje čitao kao kritika ideologije visokog modernizma, dekonstrukcija modernističke koncepcije umjetničkog subjekta, te institucionalna kritika umjetničkog sistema. Djelovanje Grupe pojašnjeno je specifičnim društveno-političkim kontekstom i stavljena u okvir suvremenih neo-avangardnih pojava u Europi i svijetu. Umjetničko djelovanje Grupe predstavljeno je anti-časopisom Gorgona, suradnjom sa stranim umjetnicima, te kroz presjek ključnih radova članova Grupe.
