Seroprevalence of phlebovirus infections in Croatia

Abstract

Flebovirusi čine dio velike skupine arbovirusa koje na ljude prenose flebotomi (nevidi). Infekcije uzrokovane ovim virusima u ljudi se očituju kao febrilna bolest, tzv. "trodnevna groznica" ili "papatači groznica", dok virus Toscana (TOSV) može uzrokovati i neuroinvazivni oblik bolesti (serozni meningitis). Flebovirusi su rasprostranjeni u mediteranskim zemljama gdje uzrokuju infekcije, osobito u ljetnim mjesecima. Na području Hrvatske dokazani su sicilijanski (SFSV) i napuljski (SFNV) virus papatači groznice te TOSV. Cilj rada je odrediti seroprevalenciju na fleboviruse u stanovnika kontinentalnog područja Hrvatske i priobalja. Tijekom jednogodišnjeg razdoblja, od siječnja do prosinca 2017. godine, na fleboviruse je testirano ukupno 244 ispitanika u dobi od 18 do 95 godina. U ispitivanoj je skupini bilo 140 (57, 4%) muškaraca i 104 (42, 6%) žena. Ovisno o zemljopisnom području, 72 ispitanika (29, 5%) su bila s područja priobalja, a 172 (70, 5%) s područja kontinentalnog dijela Hrvatske. Svi su ispitanici bili asimptomatski u vrijeme testiranja te nisu naveli anamnestički podatak o nedavnoj febrilnoj bolesti. IgG protutijela na SFSV, SFNV i TOSV određena su pomoću indirektnog imunofluorescentnog testa (IFA ; Sandfly Fever Mosaic, Euroimmun, Lübeck, Njemačka). Zemljopisna rasprostranjenost seropozitivnih osoba prikazana je na slici 1. TOSV protutijela su dokazana u ukupno 20 ispitanika (8, 2%). Na području priobalja je dokazano 16/72 seropozitivnih osoba (22, 2%), a u kontinentalnom dijelu 4/172 seropozitivne osobe (2, 3%). SFSV je dokazan u ukupno tri ispitanika (1, 2%). Sve tri seropozitivne osobe su bile s područja priobalja (3/72 ; 4, 2%). SFNV je dokazan u ukupno 6 (2, 4%) ispitanika. Dvije su seropozitivne osobe dokazane u kontinentalnom dijelu (2/244 ; 0, 8%), a četiri seropozitivne osobe u priobalju (4/72 ; 5, 5%). Navedeni rezultati ukazuju na prisustvo flebovirusa na području Hrvatske. TOSV, SFSV i SFNV su češći na području priobalja.
