Modern conceptions of mammalian olfactory ensheathing cells (OEC) properties are presented. Taking into consideration an important role of this cell type in ensuring axons of receptor neurons’ into olfactory bulb tissue growth, some experimental data on OEC application for transplantation effectiveness and it’s perspectives for the aim to restore the spinal cord and peripheral nerves conduction are listed.
