Abstract

Este artículo analiza y cuestiona el modelo de atención e intervención social con menores y jóvenes migrantes solos/as, a partir del análisis de la práctica profesional de una entidad: Fundación Raíces. Desde metodologías cualitativas y participativas, basadas en entrevistas individuales a profesionales y jóvenes, revisión de casos, grupos de discusión con jóvenes, análisis documental, junto al relato crítico de la práctica profesional, se cuestiona el actual modelo asistencialista y normativo de intervención y se presenta una alternativa basada en enfoques de derecho y en metodologías participativas centradas en la persona. El análisis crítico de los modelos convencionales de intervención social aplicados a un colectivo tan vulnerable como son menores y jóvenes migrantes solos en España, permite a las ciencias sociales vinculadas a la intervención social cuestionar su práctica profesional, enriquecerla y virar hacia modelos menos normativos, más integrales y participativos.
