
The article presents the peculiarities of diagnostics of physical readiness of border guard officers at tactical and operational levels of military education. It has been found that the result of continuous physical training of border guard officers is an ability that encompasses officers’ aspirations for continuous professional physical development and self-improvement, readiness to apply the acquired applied and methodological knowledge of physical training in the course of operational and service activities, applied motor skills and personal safety skills, skills of defense and attack with the use of special tools and techniques of hand-to-hand combat, to use physical force and special means in situations defined by law in the performance of official duties. This ability encompasses physical endurance, formed physical and volitional characteristics of the officer’s personality, general physical and special physical readiness, that in combination allow to endure physical exertion without reducing professional ability to work in the conditions of daily activities for the protection of the state border, and, if necessary, in the conduct of modern combat. Considering the structure of physical fitness, which combines four main components – motivational-valuable, informational-cognitive, operational-activational and professional-personal, the following has been found out. It is reasonable to consider as the criteria of the formation of this ability (as a result of continuous physical training) the psychological-axiological, subject-instrumental, behavioral-competence and individual-functional ones. The definition of the diagnostic apparatus allows us to make a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the traditional system of physical training of border guard officers at the levels of military education in the traditional educational process.
