In this paper, an algorithm for detecting pinholes was proposed. Pinholes are very tiny holes generated in the surfaces of scarfed slabs. To detect various sizes of pinholes, the Gabor filter combination was applied. A new image segmentation method was proposed in pre-processing. To reduce the number of pseudo-defects, dual thresholding method was used. We have increased the performance of classification by adding new morphological features to general texture based features. To evaluate the performance of proposed algorithm, an images obtained in real production line were used. ; 1 ; 1 ; 1 ; scie ; scopus

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 41 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Top 10% | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10% | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Top 10% |
