Abstract

Η εικόνα του αγίου Ανδρέα Κρήτης (διαστ. 160x69,5x2,5 εκ.), αρχικά θύρα παραβήματος άγνωστου ναού, φυλάσσεται στον ναό του Ελκόμενου Χριστού στη Μονεμβασία. Οι ομοιότητες του έργου με θύρες τέμπλων του κρητικού ζωγράφου Εμμανουήλ Τζάνε (περ. 1610-1690), κυρίως δε με τη θύρα με θέμα τον άγιο Γρηγόριο τον Παλαμά στο ναό των Αγίων Ιάσωνος και Σωσιπάτρου στην Κέρκυρα (1654), επιτρέπουν την απόδοσή του στον συγκεκριμένο κρητικό ζωγράφο του 17ου αιώνα.
