Redes sociales: influencia en el aprendizaje profundo de estudiantes de Educación Secundaria

Abstract

Las redes sociales representan un nuevo estilo de vida para los más jóvenes. El objetivo de este estudio es identificar qué factores, vinculados al uso de redes sociales y contenidos digitales consumidos y producidos por estudiantes de secundaria, intervienen en la aplicación de estrategias de aprendizaje profundo. Para identificarlos, se realizó un estudio cuantitativo, con una muestra de 197 estudiantes. El instrumento empleado fue un cuestionario. Los resultados muestran un escaso empleo de estrategias de aprendizaje profundo. La frecuencia de uso de Instagram, Youtube y Twitter influye en la aplicación de estas estrategias, pero no TikTok o Discord/WhatsApp. Los tipos de contenidos producidos no influyen en la ejecución de estas estrategias, pero sí los contenidos consumidos. Evitar la interacción con el móvil durante el tiempo de estudio permite la aplicación de estrategias de autorregulación del aprendizaje, elaboración visual y de resumen, y de procesamiento profundo de la información. En conclusión, estos hallazgos posibilitan partir de evidencias para poder desempeñar una labor educativa y de orientación en el ámbito escolar ajustadas a la realidad de los estudiantes. Así como, ofrecer pautas a las familias para regular el trabajo académico de los estudiantes y supervisar los contenidos digitales que consumen en casa.
