eSalud para adultos mayores: un análisis de la adopción de tecnologías en la prevención y control de enfermedades

Abstract

La investigación aborda el impacto de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) en el bienestar de los adultos mayores. La problemática radica en la falta de habilidades digitales y la desconfianza en la tecnología, lo que limita su adopción y los beneficios potenciales en la prevención y control de enfermedades. El objetivo es determinar cómo el uso de TIC influye en el envejecimiento activo y en la prevención de enfermedades. Se utilizó una metodología cualitativa con un enfoque exploratorio, basada en grupos focales de adultos mayores en Xalapa, Veracruz. México. Los resultados muestran que, aunque las TIC pueden mejorar la calidad de vida al facilitar la comunicación y el acceso a servicios, existen desafíos como la falta de competencias digitales y la desconfianza en la tecnología. Las conclusiones destacan la necesidad de políticas inclusivas y capacitación para maximizar los beneficios de las TIC en este grupo poblacional​
