В статье идет речь о Концепции объемно-пространственного и планировочного развития Национального исследовательского Томского государственного университета и последовавшем за ней эскизном проекте. Наряду с увеличением учебных и лабораторных площадей решается задача создания системы открытых наружных и интерьерных общественных пространств, предназначенных для межличностной коммуникации, самостоятельной работы, отдыха, самопрезентаций, коллективных мероприятий и проч. Одна из ведущих позиций – требование сохранения исторического наследия университета с одновременным применением перспективных архитектурно-планировочных приемов и объединением разновременных корпусов в единый комплекс.
