Research on efficiency of automation system with robot on linear motion track

Abstract

The work presents an assessment of the efficiency and operational costs of modernized manufacturing process. The process consists of turning operations on two CNC lathe machines. Two options for modernization are proposed: installation of 2 robots automated system and installation of an automated system of one robot on a linear motion track for positioning. The purpose of the study is to prove the advantage of option with one robot on a linear motion track device. The process modelling is performed in Visual Components software. ABB 6-axis robot IRB 4600 and the linear motion track device ABB IRBT 4004 of the same manufacturer were chosen for the research. Keywords: robot, linear motion track, Visual Components software.
