The rearrangement of image segments represents a so far little-studied field of image synthesis. In this work, known methods for the decomposition of coloured images to constituents are investigated for their suitability. Subsequently, various techniques for the assembly of these image parts are developed from an aesthetic point of view and evaluated in a user study.
