Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es evaluar cuantitativamente la percepción de estudiantes universitarios de su capacidad de aprendizaje y responsabilidad, una competencia transversal de la Universidad de Barcelona (UB). Para ello, desarrolla una metodología que permite evaluar el grado de autoconocimiento y autorregulación que, durante en el proceso de aprendizaje, alcanzan los estudiantes universitarios. Concretamente, dicha metodología se basa en dos encuestas (una al inicio del curso y otra al final), para medir la percepción de los estudiantes sobre su propia competencia de aprendizaje y responsabilidad al inicio y el grado de cumplimiento de sus expectativas iniciales al final del curso. El estudio fue realizado sobre una muestra de más de 1500 estudiantes de primer curso de universidad durante dos cursos (2019-2021), ya que muchos estudios han identificado el primer año como un momento clave para explicar la continuidad y éxito en la Universidad. Nuestros resultados señalan que las expectativas iniciales del estudiantado están por encima de la actividad que realmente desarrolla a lo largo de un curso. Su toma de conciencia se produce a posteriori, cuando observan que no han cumplido con lo que se habían propuesto al inicio. Un estudio continuado con estos indicadores permitiría abordar antes las dificultades de aprendizaje y evaluar el impacto de utilizar diferentes medidas para evitar la deserción.
