The article considers the peculiarities of ethnonational processes in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, discloses social and political foundations of shaping specific Donetsk identity as the basis for formation of a separated space. It emphasizes that politization of contemporary national relations in the region manifests itself in propaganda of fake identities and forcing of assimilation processes in occupied territories.

У статті розглядаються особливості етнонаціональних процесів в Донецькій та Луганській областях, розкривається соціально-політичний ґрунт донецької ідентичності як основи відокремленого простору. Наголошується, що політизація сучасних національних відносин у регіоні виявляється у пропагуванні фейкових ідентичностей та форсуванні асиміляційних процесів на окупованих територіях.
