Navegando la controversia sociocientífica sobre la escasez de agua con pensamiento de futuros

Abstract

La escasez del agua plantea desafíos tanto ecológicos como educativos. Este artículo presenta una innovación didáctica implementada en una intervención educativa con estudiantes de la Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) y del Tecnológico de Monterrey (México). La innovación consistió en abordar la crisis del agua como una controversia sociocientífica, integrándola con el pensamiento de futuros. Se analizaron distintas conceptualizaciones de la crisis del agua y formas de pensamiento desarrolladas tras la intervención. El estudio se basó en una exploración cualitativa de los datos aportados por 15 participantes, recopilados mediante ensayos iniciales, producciones escritas y cuestionarios finales. Los resultados evidencian una mayor capacidad para dimensionar la complejidad del problema de la escasez del agua, así como el desarrollo de competencias críticas, divergentes y sistémicas.
