Abstract

[ENG] CAD programs offer parallel views where 3D models are displayed as orthogonal axonometric projections and also allow these views to be saved in vector and raster formats directly, without additional calculations or procedures. However, most of these programs do not provide the option to visualize 3D models as oblique axonometric projections, specifically, cavalier and military perspectives, which are frequently used in architectural and engineering drawings. This limitation has led to the development of various methods for generating oblique axonometric projections from 3D models. In this context, the present work develops a procedure to generate cavalier and military projections as line drawings from 3D models and implements it in a Python-scripted tool that automates the entire process within the CAD software Rhinoceros, which is increasingly popular in architecture and engineering.
