Liepāja 1920.–1934. gadā: pašvaldība un iedzīvotāju pilsoniskā līdzdalība

Abstract

Rakstā aplūkoti Liepājas pilsētas pašvaldības un iedzīvotāju pilsoniskās līdzdalības galvenie darbības veidi 1920.–1934. gadā. Analizētie piemēri ļauj izprast to, kā vietējie iedzīvotāji dažādās pilsoniskās līdzdalības formās iesaistījās pašvaldības administratīvās, sociālās un saimnieciskās pārvaldes sistēmas veidošanā un pilnveidošanā. Pilsētas iedzīvotāji savu viedokli par pašvaldības darbības rezultātiem izteica, iesniedzot iesniegumus, lūgumus vai sūdzības konkrētās pašvaldības institūcijās, kas vēlāk tos nodeva izskatīšanai domes sēdēs. Kopumā iedzīvotāji ļoti aktīvi iesaistījās un darbojās pašvaldības politiskajā sistēmā, bet izvirzītie mērķi lielākoties nepiepildījās, jo dome noraidīja vairumu no iedzīvotāju iesniegtajām iniciatīvām.
