Abstract

La Laguna de Cube es un humedal perteneciente al ecosistema gran bioma lacustre, toma la clasificación para Humedales reconocida por el convenio de Ramsar, se divide en dos zonas: zona inundada y zona inundable se ubica al interior de la Reserva Ecológica Mache Chindul, provincia de Esmeraldas, Ecuador. La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo realizar la evaluación ambiental producida por el uso de agroquímicos en el humedal Laguna de Cube, donde se identificaron especies de flora y fauna en diferentes sitios del humedal tomados de forma aleatoria. Además, se enlistaron los servicios ecosistémicos del humedal con base a la información obtenida mediante encuestas, mismas que fueron validadas por panel de expertos y Alfa de Crombach, del mismo modo se usaron criterios de inclusión y exclusión para el levantamiento de información de los participantes. Se identificaron los productos químicos que están utilizando los agricultores que viven en zonas adyacentes del humedal en sus actividades antropogénicas, principalmente la agricultura y la ganadería, se observó que sí existe contaminación por efectos de los productos químicos en las orillas del humedal causando afectación, principalmente, a las especies que sirven de alimento a las familias del sector. Del mismo modo, se pudo demostrar el carente conocimiento de los servicios ecosistémicos por parte de los colindantes, a pesar de que la mayor parte de ellos han vivido por más de 20 años en este lugar. Existe una presencia significativa de especies de plantas, aves, mamíferos, quelonios y reptiles, como caimanes y cocodrilos, que se han convertido en representantes destacados del humedal Laguna de Cube.
