The article discusses design thinking algorithms based on the work of J. K. Jones, T. Brown, B. Lawson, P. Rand and other authors and shows their practical approbation. The design is treated not only as a special kind of creative and project activity, but also a special design algorithm that can be widely used in other areas. Characteristics of convergence, transformation, divergence as the main stages of design thinking, as well as brainstorming and the method of mental maps as techniques that promote convergence are given.

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 4 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Top 10% | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10% | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
