The article elaborates a method of maintaining the required level of information and psychological security of law enforcement personnel in the performance of public security tasks, which consists in monitoring the information and psychological situation, assessing and forecasting changes in its tension in the area of execution of tasks by law enforcement forces, determination of the level of information and psychological security on the base of: the difference between the potentials of the subject of influence and the elements of the system of providing information and psychological security; the level of moral and psychological status of the personnel; the level of risk of psychogenic losses among personnel and the formation of appropriate options for counteracting and protecting against negative information and psychological influences based on typical scenarios of law enforcement forces that will provide the required level of information and psychological security, which will indirectly depend on the normalization of information and psychological situation in the area of execution of tasks by law enforcement forces to a level not higher than "difficult", which is characterized by the advantage of the integrated potential of the object of influence and system of information and psychological security of the potential impact of the subject and the projected positive trend change intensity information and psychological situation.The required level of information and psychological security for law enforcement personnel when performing public security tasks is the threshold level at which the sum of the integrated potentials of the subject of influence and the system of providing information and psychological security outweighs the integrated potential of the subject of influence; provided that the degree of risk of psychogenic losses among law enforcement personnel is below the critical level, and their probable value will not exceed 10% of the number of law enforcement personnel involved in public safety tasks.
