
Las micorrizas arbusculares son asociaciones simbióticas formadas entre un amplio rango de especies de plantas y hongos del orden Glomales. El hongo coloniza el apoplasto y células corticales de la raíz. El desarrollo de esta asociación, altamente compatible, requiere de la diferenciación celular y molecular coordinada de ambos simbiontes, para formar una interface especializada en la cual ocurre la transferencia bidireccional de nutrimentos. Esta revisión resume los resultados obtenidos con el uso de técnicas de biología molecular en el entendimiento del desarrollo de la simbiosis micorrízica arbuscular.
