Problemática sociolingüística de las universidades interculturales mexicanas a la luz de su ideología educativa

Abstract

Las Universidades Interculturales gubernamentales fundadas en México a partir del año 2000 representan un modelo educativo novedoso enfocado prioritariamente a las poblaciones indígenas, entre cuyas metas principales pertenece la revitalización de las lenguas indígenas. En el presente artículo se desglosan los objetivos lingüísticos de este modelo educativo y se analiza su alcance práctico con base en el trabajo de campo realizado por la autora entre 2011 y 2014 en la Universidad Intercultural del Estado de México (UIEM) y en la Universidad Intercultural de Chiapas (UNICH). Se concluye que la ideología presente en la teoría educativa de la Universidad Intercultural basada en la inclusión de los pueblos indígenas en la sociedad nacional pone límites a la aspiración institucional de revitalizar las lenguas originarias de México.
