У статті простежено динаміку адміністративно-територіальних змін на Київщині, зокрема в межах колишнього Переяслав-Хмельницького району, що відбулися внаслідок політики децентралізації у період 2017–2021 рр. На основі аналізу документів органів державної влади та матеріалів місцевої преси окреслено перебіг змін, що відбулися в регіоні. До наукового обігу введено інформацію з історії утворення об’єднаних територіальних громад на Переяславщині, відомості щодо розвитку їх складу тощо. Висвітлено обставини процесу ліквідації Переяслав-Хмельницького району.
