Agua potable y red cloacal

Abstract

En el marco de una creciente profesionalización de las funciones e instituciones estatales a comienzos del siglo XX, el objetivo de este artículo es indagar cuáles fueron los objetivos de las políticas públicas propuestas e implementadas durante el periodo lencinista (1918-1928) en materia sanitaria. Primeramente, se considera el estado sanitario general de la provincia de Mendoza entre fines del siglo XIX y las primeras décadas del siglo XX. Luego se analiza de manera particular las características de la infraestructura de servicios de agua potable y red cloacal durante los gobiernos lencinistas. Estas administraciones se propusieron mejorar la infraestructura de los dos servicios sanitarios en la Ciudad Capital de Mendoza y ampliarla a los distintos departamentos. Se consultaron diversas fuentes oficiales, la prensa local y se examinaron los planos de la red de agua potable (Archivo de Aguas Mendocinas).
