Los productos forestales no maderables, una fuente de materia prima para el desarrollo de la industria eléctrica en cuba

Abstract

El desconocimiento que en la actualidad se tiene de los productos forestales no maderables no ha permitido aquilatar la importancia económica que éstos tienen, tanto en el mercado nacional como en el internacional. Investigaciones realizadas en México, Chile, Costa Rica y otros países del área, surgieren que el valor económico total de estos productos podrían llegar a exceder el valor de los productos maderables y su aprovechamiento podría crecer sustancialmente sin efectos ambientales nocivos. La utilización de éstos como una fuente de materia prima para la industria eléctrica ha permitido que se haya producido un barniz electroaislante, que tiene como objetivo fundamental proteger los enrollados de los transformadores y motores eléctricos de la humedad y agentes agresivos externos que puedan actuar sobre estos, además de brindarle una vida más duradera.
