
La mucinosis papular o liquen mixedematoso localizado se caracteriza por la presencia de pápulas, nódulos o placas liquenoides debidos al depósito dérmico de mucina y a fibrosis variable. Es considerada como una patología benigna crónica que debe ser diferenciada del escleromixedema, que se asocia con una gamopatía monoclonal a menudo mortal.
