Abstract

La perlilla o perlita Symphoricarpos microphyllus H.B.K., es un producto forestal no maderable (PFNM), distribuido en el Corredor Biológico Chichinautzin, Morelos, México. Allí, los campesinos la usan tradicionalmente para fabricar escobas rústicas. Durante los últimos años el Gobierno del Distrito Federal ha incrementado la demanda para las barredoras mecanizadas. Su sobreextracción y venta ha reducido esta especie silvestre, por tal razón, se planteó el presente estudio sobre la distribución y abundancia, proceso fenológico y usos tradicionales, como base para su manejo y preservación futura.
