POTENCIALIDADES DE LAS ESCORIAS DE AFINO DEL ACERO EN LA OBTENCIÓN DE UN FUNDENTE PARA RECARGUE POR SOLDADURA

Abstract

Las escorias de acería constituyen el residual más importante de la producción de acero, cuyo aprovechamiento fundamental se enfoca a la producción de materiales de la construcción, aunque en muchos casos quedan en los vertederos sin que se le de algún aprovechamiento. Dentro de estas escorias, las del proceso de afino representan 20-30 kg/tacero. En el presente trabajo se abordan la utilización de escorias blancas de acería como componente de la matriz de un fundente aglomerado para el recargue de piezas sometidas a desgaste abrasivo. A partir de la composición química de las escorias (sistema CaO-SiO2-MgO-Al2O3) y su ubicación en el sistema de equilibrio de fases se evalúa la adición de modificadores al sistema de óxidos para adecuar sus propiedades. A la matriz se le añade un sistema de aleación para obtener un fundente que deposite una aleación apropiada para condiciones de desgaste abrasivo. Se concluye que el prototipo de fundente obtenido, posibilita obtener un depósito con martensita y austenita residual en la microestructura, similar al de fundentes comerciales para similar aplicación.
