¿Existe disponibilidad a pagar por responsabilidad social corporativa? Percepción de los consumidores.

Abstract

La creciente globalización económica así como la mayor transparencia informativa han favorecido laaparición de "consumidores socialmente responsables" que, a su vez, ha despertado el interés de lasempresas por conocer cómo y cuánto valoran estos consumidores la Responsabilidad Social Corporativa(RSC). Aun siendo una cuestión de relevancia, todavía existe un elevado grado de desconocimientoacerca de cuál es la disponibilidad a pagar de los consumidores por productos o servicios socialmenteresponsables. Con este estudio, contribuimos a dar respuesta a esta pregunta a partir de las valoraciones obtenidas de un trabajo de campo sobre la percepción de los consumidores. En particular, los resultados de cuatro grupos focales y entrevistas a 54 individuos sugieren que la disponibilidad a pagar por las actuaciones socialmente responsables de las empresas es positiva. Basándonos en nuestros resultados así como en estudios recientes, argumentamos a favor de los métodos de valoración multiatributo con preferencias declaradas para cuantificar de forma más precisa la disponibilidad a pagar por determinadas conductas y realizamos una breve descripción de esta metodología en el contexto que nos ocupa.
