Mujeres expatriadas en Arabia Saudita

Abstract

La expatriación de latinos como una de las modalidades de migración ha impactado a las mujeres y sus dinámicas familiares. Objetivo: profundizar, desde las voces de las mujeres, en las transformaciones en las relaciones familiares y los roles de género durante la migración e integración al contexto sociocultural. Metodología: estudio descriptivo, mixto, transversal, mediante cuestionario y entrevista. Muestra por conveniencia, técnica bola de nieve con 103 mujeres latinas expatriadas en Arabia Saudita. Resultados: reportan cambios en los roles en el interior de la familia, asimetría en las relaciones de género y dificultad en la asimilación de la cultura islámica. Conclusiones: el proceso migratorio genera desafíos de adaptación y oportunidades que promueven el desarrollo personal y la calidad de vida familiar.
