El code-switching en dos cuentos de escritoras Chicanas: un análisis conversacional

Abstract

El fenómeno de las lenguas en contacto implica la coexistencia de códigos interactuantes en contextos específicos. Tal situación resulta especialmente notoria en el caso de las obras de la literatura chicana que utilizan en su discurso tanto el idioma inglés como el español, en las cuales, la coexistencia en una misma cláusula comunicativa de los dos idiomas origina el fenómeno de la alternancia de los códigos en cuestión. En el presente artículo se abordan cuentos de escritoras Chicanas, en los que la alternancia se manifiesta en los diálogos que sostienen los personajes en cada texto. El método empleado para ello es el análisis conversacional, aplicado fundamentalmente a partir de los postulados propuestos por Peter Auer, con el fin de determinar -con base en las circunstancias particulares de cada caso- la función específica de la alternancia de códigos en los textos seleccionados.
