O LEGADO HIPOCRÁTICO E OS SISTEMAS DE SAÚDE: ALGUMAS REFLEXÕES

Abstract

A presente reflexão tem como objetivo realizar uma aproximação teórico-filosófica entre alguns recortes do pensamento grego da antiguidade e do pensamento contemporâneo, no que diz respeito aos sistemas de saúde. A focalização se concentra na concepção de saúde-doença expressada nos ensinamentos e na obra de Hipócrates e, a partir daí, pontuam-se as similaridades entre alguns “sistemas alternativos de saúde” e “sistemas populares de saúde”. Tal reflexão aponta para as limitações do modelo biomédico ocidental e a necessidade de resgatar os fundamentos da teoria humoral hipocrática para a compreensão e a atuação profissional na área da saúde e da enfermagem.
