The paper presents an analysis of the data on the choice of the drug for the local treatment of acute tonsillopharyngitis in children. The information about the mechanism of action of benzydamine hydrochloride, which is a part of the drug Tantum Verde®, is provided. We have analyzed the results of clinical studies that have demonstrated a high efficacy in the treatment of acute inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and upper respiratory tract in children. The basic indications for the use of Tantum Verde® in the pediatric practice are established.
