Abstract

No es ninguna novedad a comienzos del siglo XXI, hallar obras y trabajos que centren su atención en el mar y en los usos de los océanos. Y que, como tónica general, comiencen denunciando la situación de deterioro de aquellos. Es común igualmente, cuando nos referimos a la Naturaleza en general y a los ecosistemas marinos en par- ticular, recurrir a la denuncia sobe una situación de agotamiento y crisis para justi- ficar cualquier medida susceptible de ser adoptada sobre el uso de todo tipo de entes y “bienes” ubicados fuera del medio ambiente urbano. La protección y conservación de la naturaleza siempre son armas arrojadizas de gran calado sobre cuanto se quiera argumentar en torno a los usos de los océanos. No obstante, no vamos a discutir sobre la salud de estos últimos. Nuestra intención no es poner en duda que los humanos nos enfrentamos a un importante reto de gestión del planeta y sus recursos.
