REFLETINDO A HISTÓRIA DE INTEGRAÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO LOCAL NA ESCOLA: procurando caminhos de legitimação

Abstract

Muito já foi dito e escrito sobre os Sistemas de Conhecimento Indígenas (IKS) ou, como também é chamado, Conhecimento Ecológico Tradicional (TEK) ou ainda Conhecimento Local. Meu artigo não pretende discutir como deve ser denominado, embora essa também seja uma questão importante, pois a forma como o nomeamos molda as possibilidades que abrimos para esse tipo de conhecimento. O artigo examina historicamente a inclusão do conhecimento indígena nos currículos escolares, tomando como referência a prática em Moçambique. A partir da análise histórica o artigo propõe um quadro-referência para avaliar e refletir as práticas tendentes a incluir o IKS no sistema de educação formal. Argumento que precisamos encontrar teorias legitimadas para integrar a IKS, a fim de contrabalançar a prática de ensinar IKS em salas de aula de ciências separadas de seu próprio contexto sociocultural.
