Efectos de las listas de palabras en el aprendizaje del vocabulario en L2

Abstract

En un contexto de revalorización del léxico en el aprendizaje de lenguas extranjeras y segundas lenguas, todavía nos encontramos con críticas y ataques a ciertas técnicas de enseñanza-aprendizaje del vocabulario porque, pese a estar más que afianzadas, se las consideran distantes a los paradigmas comunicativos predominantes hoy en día. Uno de los métodos más criticados son las listas de palabras. Sin embargo, en muchas ocasiones esta censura carece de respaldo científico y se basa fundamentalmente en la intuición u otros criterios subjetivos. En este trabajo analizamos los efectos del uso de listas de palabras en el aprendizaje del vocabulario en ELE. Para ello, comparamos esta modalidad de presentación del léxico con la inferencia por contexto en una muestra de estudiantes italianos de español y evaluamos la capacidad de estos participantes para recuperar y reconocer la forma y el significado a corto y medio plazo de una serie de ítems léxicos. Los resultados revelan una capacidad de retención léxica estadísticamente mayor por parte del grupo que trabaja con el listado, aunque también es más propenso al olvido a medio plazo. Asimismo, el conocimiento receptivo y semántico es más fácilmente adquirido.
