Histiocitosis X: presentación de tres casos

Abstract

Fundamento: la histiocitosis de células de Langerlhans o también conocido como Histiocitosis X es un grupo de enfermedades entre las cuales se encuentran el Granuloma Eosinofílico, la enfermedad de Hand-Schüller y la enfermedad de Letterer-Siwe, con este término se identifica un grupo de alteraciones que tienen en común la proliferación de células dendríticas y los macrófagos, se diagnostican con más frecuencia en niños. Dentro de las relacionadas con las células dendríticas las fundamentales son las histiocitosis o células de Langerhans. Las histiocitosis de células de Langerhans tienen un comportamiento clínico muy variable, puede ir desde una lesión que involucra un solo sitio o sistema hasta una enfermedad multisistémica. Caso Clínico: se presentaron tres casos portadores de histiocitosis de células de Langerhans con manifestaciones diferentes. Se demuestra la importancia de los estudios histológicos y la utilización de tomografía computarizada por su especificidad y sensibilidad como método diagnóstico. Conclusiones: en los pacientes se observaron lesiones localizadas o generalizadas en los casos presentados, se localizaron en cráneo y cara; y las sistémicas en glándulas salivales mayores, cuello, tórax y en la piel. La presencia de múltiples lesiones y el estudio histopatológico demostraron que se trataba de una histiocitosis X.
