Abstract

Este artigo examina as estratégias formais e políticas de curtas-metragens brasileiros dos anos 2010 implicadas numa apropriação imaginativa do trauma colonial, especificamente da escravidão e das diásporas africanas. A partir da análise de Experimentando o vermelho em dilúvio (2016, de Michelle Mattiuzzi), A morte branca do feiticeiro negro (2020, de Rodrigo Ribeiro) e Novo mundo (2020, Natara Ney e Gilvan Barreto), demonstra-se a proeminência conferida ao corpo como meio de fabulação do passado e de resistência contra as estruturas do potentado colonial. Especial atenção é dedicada ao modo como as obras enfatizam a agência política de sujeitos negros e, igualmente, articulam experiências individuais e coletivas a partir da relação entre imagem, som e palavra.
