Abstract

El presente artículo consiste en una lectura de la novela Rayuela (1963) de Julio Cortázar desde su reseña “Leopoldo Marechal: Adán Buenosayres” (1949). Teniendo en vista la tendencia de los escritores-críticos en reconocerse en sus pares, en Rayuela se pone en evidencia cómo Cortázar había leído el Adán Buenosayres (1948), lo que buscamos investigar, señalando los puntos en común entre las dos obras, atendiendo los aspectos que elogia, y las fallas y equívocos que apunta en la novela de Marechal y no comete en Rayuela. Los aspectos considerados son: rescate de la “diversa desmesura”, del carácter autobiográfico y de la angustia, la crítica de la unidad según principios exteriores a ‘la novela’, la estructura, divergente concepción del amor, y los fuentes literarios movilizados en las dos novelas, concentrando la investigación en el dialogo de sendos autores con la tradición del bucolismo occidental, sobre todo la herencia ítalo-ibérica que es la más enfatizada por Cortázar en la reseña.
