Dados Ambientais em Sistemas de Informação Geográfica: da Aglutinação á Desnaturação

Abstract

Os Sistemas de Informação Geográfica (SIGs), como qualquer instrumento, sofrem limitações impostas pela concepção de pesquisa proposta e a forma de organização da base de dados. Para evidenciar a influência da estrutura de dados no resultado das análises nos SIGs, tomamos como exemplo dados sobre áreas de preservação permanente para a Bacia do Ribeirão do Gama (DF), Brasil, e procedemos a algumas simulações com diferentes graus de aglutinação de dados. Conclui-se que, em virtude das propriedades da hierarquia dos sistemas, uma base de dados que parta inicialmente de uma aglutinação de dados leva a uma perda de informação e, portanto, de poder diagnóstico.
