Acceso a la justicia de las personas con discapacidad

Abstract

La discapacidad es uno de los grandes desafíos, de presente y de futuro, que tiene planteada la humanidad. Una legislación respetuosa con la discapacidad debe partir del valor de su diferencia y tener presente que afecta no sólo a las condiciones de vida de millones de personas, el diez por ciento de la población mundial, sino también a su dignidad, libertad, desarrollo de la personalidad e igualdad con las demás personas. Conforme al artículo 13 de la Convención de Nueva York de 2006, ratificada por España en 2008, rubricado Acceso a la justicia, los Estados Partes asegurarán que las personas con discapacidad tengan acceso a la justicia en igualdad de condiciones con las demás personas.
