Abstract

A presente pesquisa foi realizada com a tainha, Mugil platanus, com objetivo de determinar o ní­­vel de proteí­­na bruta e a proporção de proteí­­na de origem animal inclusas nas dietas experimentais e que proporcionam a melhor taxa de crescimento. Utilizaram-se rações peletizadas isocalóricas (3800 kcal de energia bruta/kg de dieta) com os seguintes teores estimados em proteí­­na de origem animaI: 0%, 20% e 40% e de proteí­­na bruta, 20% e 40%. Após 72 dias de observação, a sobrevivência média variou de 58 a 100%. A análise de varií­¢ncia mostrou diferenças significativas entre tratamentos, comprovando que a dieta que proporcionou maior ganho de peso médio dos peixes foi a composta de 40% de proteí­­na de origem animal e 40% de proteí­­na bruta. Não houve correlação significativa entre o ganho de peso médio e a sobrevivência média, assim como entre o ganho de peso médio dos alevinos e a temperatura média diária da água do mar; sendo que os valores médios de pH e de oxigênio dissolvido foram correlacionados (P < 0,01) com o ganho de peso médio. Por outro lado, a sobrevivência média não apresentou correlação com estes últimos parí­¢metros.
